Instagram, a photo- and video-sharing social media platform founded in 2010, has been part of the cultural landscape for almost a decade. More recently, Instagram unveiled their new product: Instagram Reels, which gives users an alternative to creating short-form videos. Similar to TikTok and previously Vine (acquired by Twitter), Instagram Reels allows users to develop (up to) 90 second clips composed of music, effects and sound. With this, creators are able to share content directly onto the feed or even be picked up by the Explore page for maximum reach.
